” Beauté, Luxe, calme et volupté”

Everytime I walk in Jardin du Palais Royal I think of this passage from the poem ‘L’ invitation au voyage’ by Charles Baudelaire: “Là, tout n’est qu’ordre et beauté, Luxe, calme et volupté” ( There all is order and beauty, lyxury, peace and pleasure). The title for Matisse’s ‘Luxe, Calme et Volupté’ painting comes from this poem. You can find the beautiful painting at Musée d’Orsay.
